Welcome to my wordpress blog!
Hello! My name is Charlotte Evans, I am 22 years old and from Langho located near Clitheroe UK. I have recently graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a First-Class degree in Sport Business Management and am currently continuing my studies by completing a master’s in Strategic Sport Marketing.
I have always had a passion for sport and try to attend as many sporting events as possible. A personal favourite of mine is the Formula 1, I love the excitement and anticipation that the race brings. In addition, I love Football, I have been a Preston North End Fan since I was around 4 years old and continue to support them week in week out. Similarly, I have attended a significant amount of England Football and Cricket matches with my Dad and friends which I love.
As well as being a huge sport fan I have always participated and competed in sport. From the age of 4 till I was 16 I competed in dance and took a variety of dance classes. However, my favourite sport I’ve participated in was Netball. When I was 12 years old, I joined my High Schools Team which lead to me joining an outside of school club competing in matches every week. As a result I became Captain of both my Schools and Outside of school club till I was 18 years old.
It was this interest in sport that resulted me pursuing a degree in Sport Management and now narrowing my focus down to sport marketing. My undergraduate degree highlighted my interest in sport marketing, however within my final year it became apparent to me that I took particular interest in researching the divide in marketing male and female sport. My final year dissertation evaluated in particular the difference in media portrayal of men’s and women’s football. The gender inequality within sport has always been a passion of mine and something I would like to look to explore further within these blogs.
I hope you enjoy my content and continue to read the content I am looking forward to exploring in this blog series. But for now thank you for reading my first blog!
