About me!
Hello, everyone. My name is Drew Johnson and I’m delighted to introduce myself and share my journey into the dynamic world of sports marketing. I am a student currently studying for my MSc in Strategic Sports Marketing at Leeds Beckett University. I began my journey with a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Sports Marketing at Leeds Beckett University. This laid the foundation for my understanding of the relationship between sports and marketing. It introduced me to the world of sports branding, sponsorship and the impact of marketing on the sports industry.
I have always been an avid sports fan. But for me, supporting Arsenal has always been my biggest passion. I come from a family where Arsenal and Tottenham fans often have lively debates around the dinner table. For me, the choice was a no-brainer – Arsenal all the way. The history, the fanatical supporters, and the legacy of this club had me hooked.
I took my first steps onto the football pitch when I was six years old, and from there, I never looked back. I started on the boys’ teams where my passion started. When I turned eleven, my football journey changed as I transitioned into the girls’ team. This was a pivotal moment in my life, marking my deep dive into Women’s football.
In recent years, I have found a new passion with the Arsenal Women’s team. The growth in women’s football in England and on the global stage has been huge and has become the driving force behind my journey into sports marketing.
