I’m 22 years old and from Macclesfield, a small town in Cheshire. After earning a second class honours degree in Sport Business Management from Leeds Beckett University last year, I’ve opted to pursue a postgraduate course in Strategic Sport Marketing to expand my knowledge.

I have been passionate about sports since I can remember. Everything started with a ball at my feet since I could walk then my love for sport only grew as I got older . My dream has always been to become a professional footballer but since a big factor occurred in my life I realised it may not be the best option to chase my lifelong dream with no plan B. After realisation that the likeliness of it won’t happen, I decided to see it more as an opportunity and explore the sports world from the other side while carrying on playing.
I’m a big fan of Liverpool, and up until I started university in 2021 I would attend or watch them on tv as much as possible. I’ve also always participated in football, most recently with the university football team while pursuing my degree, where I held positions such as team manager and captain of the first team for numerous seasons. Through this, I have thankfully had the opportunity as well to play for England University as well.
Football has a large international fan base and a significant financial impact, making it a highly sought-after sport to work in. This allows corporations and individuals to profit on the sport while maintaining the basic product: entertainment for fans watching or participating in football.
Nevertheless, by combining my dedication and love for football and sport, I hope all of the gained knowledge in the postgraduate programme will bring me to the position of securing a job within the sports marketing industry, whilst I can still dream and work on becoming a professional footballer.
